Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Francisco Seco made the kick off which started today's match. Alberto Gisbert hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Maximo Cloyo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Maximo Cloyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rosendo Eufemio fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Diablos Rojos's protests and gave Rosendo Eufemio a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Los Diablos Rojos! After 11 minutes, Ignacio Tancredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Diablos Rojos and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jaime Cazalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 20th minute, Doug Bermudez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Sidro made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Aguilera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Aguilera having to interfere. A hard shot 27 in the game by Doug Bermudez from a close distance when the talented Joaquin Gayoso managed to make a qualified save. Uruguay's players were relieved. The supporters of Los Diablos Rojos booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doug Bermudez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Aquilino Aguilera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Diablos Rojos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aquilino Aguilera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. At last the ball reached Camilo Franco at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Los Diablos Rojos. 0-1. After the first half Uruguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Doug Bermudez made the kick off in the second half. Aquilino Aguilera made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Maximo Cloyo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Cloyo in the 72nd minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doug Bermudez's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Jorge Sainz kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Doug Bermudez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Diablos Rojos's supporters rose to their feet, but Doug Bermudez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Los Diablos Rojos's Aquilino Aguilera got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Los Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Aquilino Aguilera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. In the 92nd minute, Uruguay's Francisco Seco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aquilino Aguilera. Aquilino Aguilera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Doug Bermudez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When João Adolfo Mota came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Los Diablos Rojos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Mota couldn't finish the play.
