Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Malcolm Wall made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Malcolm Wall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Näver came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malcolm Wall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Malcolm Wall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Folke Melin in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pauliström were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bengt-Åke Biörk took the corner. After taking down the ball on Pauliström's corner Bengt-Åke Biörk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 20th minute, Alexander Lundström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Pauliström booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Pauliström getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Henry Näver hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Michael Runberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pauliström's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 25th minute, Michael Runberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Malcolm Wall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, Pauliström was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Runberg to maneuver through the defense. Malcolm Wall didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Pauliström booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt-Åke Biörk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Wall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Wall having to interfere. Daniel Zorita scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Malcolm Wall, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 47th minute, Bengt-Åke Biörk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Malcolm Wall to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Pauliström's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Malcolm Wall came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Malcolm Wall read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to Pauliström getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Michael Runberg hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Malcolm Wall. Pauliström's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Wall having to interfere. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute, Johannes Axelsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 minutes, Agustín Saelices mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Pauliström players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pauliström booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador played a much better game than Pauliström and deserved their victory. The Pauliström players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
