After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Luz Tejedor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Luz Tejedor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Crețu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stiinta-Univ.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Martin Crețu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Stiinta-Univ. defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Crețu. The Stiinta-Univ. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Crețu should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 45th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Stiinta-Univ.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 47 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Efraim Gilabert. In the 48th minute, Efraim Gilabert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

52 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Martin Crețu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Martin Crețu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Shi Ming Sheng came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Okan Koc in the 63rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Ming Sheng in the 65th minute of the match. Luz Tejedor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Martin Crețu had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Julian Murillo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 73 minutes Stiinta-Univ.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu did a great save. 75 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Panait came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes in the game Șerban Rușanu did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Benjamim Urbano. If Okan Koc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Panait in the 81st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Crețu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Luz Tejedor hit a great ball. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 87th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luz Tejedor to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Okan Koc, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shi Ming Sheng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Peru players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
