If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Sinulescu in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Sinulescu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of play forced x-TreM KiLLerSS's goalkeeper Gigel Tudor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After having played for 22 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, x-TreM KiLLerSS's Olimpiu Humă got a free kick in the 36th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tudor having to interfere. Gigel Tudor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of x-TreM KiLLerSS booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Liviu Pădureanu. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liviu Pădureanu in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
