Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Barroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herberto Caiado was slow to take the kick. During this time Lima Team's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Herberto Caiado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herberto Caiado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Domingos in the 26th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herberto Caiado in the 34th minute of the match. If Anselmo Domingos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute of the match, Tomas Illescas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Francisco Infante saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 46th minute.

When Carlos Palmeira came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Lima Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Palmeira couldn't finish the play. Herberto Caiado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 64th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Francisco Infante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacob Barroso in the 67th minute. With an all-out effort, Lima Team's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Herberto Caiado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lima Team were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herberto Caiado took the corner. When Lima Team's Herberto Caiado in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Francisco Infante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. When Jacob Barroso came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Lima Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Barroso couldn't finish the play. Lima Team's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
