A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldinho Meira's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. José Pedro Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho Meira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 1-0. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elói Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldinho Meira in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. After 24 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Morro Grande E.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldo Lima got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 35th minute, Elói Penha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 37th minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper José Pedro Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Ronaldinho Meira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 43 minutes, Ronaldinho Meira made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronaldinho Meira to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Meira in the 55th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Ronaldo Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldinho Meira in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 69th minute, Ronaldo Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 84th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Morro Grande E.C were awarded a corner. Jorge Sá went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jorge Sá almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. When the referee ended the match the Morro Grande E.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
