Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a Morro Grande E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Axel Tasis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ronaldinho Meira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Pedro Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Puig in the 27th minute of play. José Pedro Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Meira in the 41st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Ronaldinho Meira took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Morro Grande E.C getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Wilian de Almeida hit a great ball. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but José Pedro Abraão made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Lima in the 60th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Pedro Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ronaldo Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but José Pedro Abraão made a huge save. When Aaron Alcocer fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Aaron Alcocer a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Mazza came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Alcocer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 96 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho Meira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldinho Meira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
