In the 33rd minute of the match Peru got a corner. Leones FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. 36 minutes into the match, Leones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Alfonso Villamarin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Alvarado hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casado Arambula in the 40th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonso Villamarin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Leones FC's Alfonso Villamarin got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Leones FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leones FC throughout the match.
