A well-hit corner resulted in Baltasar Ellertsson heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltasar Ellertsson in the 24th minute of play. Gurpreet Sudan hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, 이 어 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th match minute, Jeonnam Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 이 어 to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Jeonnam Dragons's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Eliot Sinden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when 서문 홍 made the kick off in the second half. Baltasar Ellertsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. After 58 played minutes Jeonnam Dragons got a freekick which was hit by Gurpreet Sudan. In the 62nd minute, 김 팽 had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gaos during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeonnam Dragons's 연 근 was substituted for 김 팽. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute of the match Jeonnam Dragons got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 최 야 ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Eliot Sinden made a huge save. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliot Sinden having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Jeonnam Dragons's Jan Gurgul got a free kick in the 76th minute. 서문 홍 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 서문 홍 in the 80th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltasar Ellertsson in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 90th minute of play forced Jeonnam Dragons's goalkeeper Eliot Sinden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 서문 홍 in the 92nd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 서문 홍 in the 95th minute of play.
