Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Intriago Texidor sent off a good shot on target. Renán Rocafort took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Martínez in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute of the match INGOBERNABLE F.C got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rosero Rioja ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to INGOBERNABLE F.C's Armando Sando getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play forced INGOBERNABLE F.C's goalkeeper Renán Rocafort to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Fidel Martínez managed to get in a good position for a shot. INGOBERNABLE F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Fidel Martínez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Martínez's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosero Rioja, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, INGOBERNABLE F.C's goalkeeper Renán Rocafort had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Renán Rocafort made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 59thth minute of the game Leon van Persie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Martínez in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Leon van Persie notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leon van Persie went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Renán Rocafort in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 97th minute. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because INGOBERNABLE F.C had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
