It was a well-played corner which Leonardo Leoz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Edmund Kojder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Nhungarinthians's Marcus-Vinícius Franceschelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edmund Kojder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Mexico booed when Nhungarinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséas Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa had in the 41stth minute some difficulties stopping Oséas Magalhães's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus-Vinícius Franceschelli came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conrado Netto made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Willian Camargo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nhungarinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus-Vinícius Franceschelli in the 53rd minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Netto in the 54th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Edmund Kojder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A nice corner shot did that Ezequiel Nascimento got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 69th minute Conrado Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Netto came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
