The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wargön! The Wargön fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sören Tunberg should have stopped the shot. The throw-in from Alonso Berganza in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Wargön's Júlio Munhoz. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
