Robert Davison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Davison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Luz Tejedor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robert Davison was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Luan Toro's Ramiro Eufrasio got a free kick in the 31st minute. Julian Murillo scored 1-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robert Davison, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Joaquin Prats hit a great ball.

The supporters of Peru booed when Sportivo Luan Toro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuri Castillejo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Sportivo Luan Toro's goalkeeper Robert Davison had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milagros Fraga. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martins Palermo in the 73rd minute of play. Martins Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The Sportivo Luan Toro supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
