Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Túlio Maravilha started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Túlio Maravilha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Túlio Maravilha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Palmares Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Palmares Futebol Clube's Túlio Maravilha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Maravilha, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute of the game Alfredo Botelho made a throw-in which Dário Moreira played forward. Leonardo Paz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. Patricio Costa was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Leonardo Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 20th minute of play. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Paz having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonardo Paz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Palmares Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Secco in the 36th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Palmares Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Leonardo Paz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Palmares Futebol Clube booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisinho Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was beautiful to see Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in action when he in the 49th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Tomas Illescas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Leonardo Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 63rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Alfredo Botelho hit a great ball. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Thomás Maia replaced Luisinho Nogueira. Palmares Futebol Clube's João Carlos Antunes was substituted for Jarbas Porto. Alfredo Botelho hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Secco in the 78th minute of the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Palmares Futebol Clube's Túlio Maravilha got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Túlio Maravilha struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmares Futebol Clube. 89 minutes into the match, Palmares Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Leonardo Paz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. A throw-in in the 97th minute of the game was made by Alfredo Botelho with Dário Moreira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Palmares Futebol Clube had played much better football throughout.
