In the 12th minute of the match Chile got a corner. GALACTICOS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Noel Hägele took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Noel Hägele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Esteban Dreer made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Noel Hägele's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. GALACTICOS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andrés Hong in the 24th minute. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noel Hägele's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The audience was convinced that Noel Hägele's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 33rd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Manzanedo to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, GALACTICOS's Esteban Dreer got control of the ball when Orlando Casaus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jose Manzanedo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Hägele in the 45th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Noel Hägele made the kick off in the second half. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Hägele in the 52nd minute of play. Chile's Orlando Casaus suffered a concussion in the 57th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Clóvis Lago hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 59 played minutes, Chile's Mariano Lacasa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Esteban Dreer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chile reached it. Esteban Dreer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Noel Hägele left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GALACTICOS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. A collision led to GALACTICOS getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Alessandro Nesta hit a great ball. Noel Hägele's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. After 84 minutes of play, GALACTICOS's Noel Hägele made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Esteban Dreer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 88th minute of the match. Noel Hägele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jose Manzanedo hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The GALACTICOS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
