After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márk Csáki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Gergely Bodonyi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gergely Bodonyi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Márk Csáki stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gergely Bodonyi in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 minutes of play Szárnyaló Sasok's Zoltán Andrássy was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 35 played minutes Szárnyaló Sasok got a freekick which was hit by Zoltán Andrássy. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Gergely Bodonyi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Márk Csáki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
