Duarte Couto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Alvi Verde's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duarte Couto came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duarte Couto. Duarte Couto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 24 minutes into the match, Alvi Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Duarte Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abram Luque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Duarte Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Abram Luque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alvi Verde's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mateo Leguizamo was slow to take the kick. During this time El Salvador's players had a chance to rest. El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Duarte Couto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Duarte Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Luque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Couto having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Murilo Stein to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Moises Fernandino in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duarte Couto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mateo Leguizamo made in the 58th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Marco Tamayo immediately put the ball in play. Moises Fernandino came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Duarte Couto could save by the left post. If Joshua Curbelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moises Fernandino scored 0-5 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Duarte Couto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Alvi Verde fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. El Salvador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
