After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ronaldo Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morro Grande E.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pedro Paulo Costa in the 94 minute of the game. Jorge Sá charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Sá the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jorge Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Chants of Morro Grande E.C echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Paraguay had held the ball for most of the match.
