In the 7th minute Maciej Marchlewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 8th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Antoni Beninda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Sergio Bertin got a free kick in the 9th minute. Antoni Beninda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 14th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maciej Marchlewicz in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, Vila Zumbi's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Antoni Beninda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 23rd minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Antoni Beninda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ferdi Kadıoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Vila Zumbi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdi Kadıoğlu couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Antoni Beninda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Maciej Marchlewicz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maciej Marchlewicz went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Antoni Beninda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 56th minute. After having played for 59 minutes, Glauco Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Zumbi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glauco Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Vila Zumbi's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Antoni Beninda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antoni Beninda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Vila Zumbi's Almir Salgado was substituted for Maciej Marchlewicz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 86th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Antoni Beninda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Antoni Beninda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antoni Beninda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 93rd minute. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antoni Beninda having to interfere. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
