Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Mellanström's Henrik Gadd started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovani Arantes went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 6th minute, Mellanström's Giovani Arantes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Kenny Stolpe kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Giovani Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovani Arantes in the 21st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Per-Olof Isaksson hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomir Sala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrik Gadd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrik Gadd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marc Lundgren received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Marc Lundgren slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 42nd minute. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Edward Ström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Lundgren in the 57th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludomir Sala having to interfere. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Giovani Arantes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 67th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Giovani Arantes made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. 73 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mellanström the free kick. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Giovani Arantes took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Gadd in the 81st minute of play. After 84 minutes, Henrik Gadd made it 7-1 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mellanström had played much better football throughout.
