Oliver Bierhoff started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, ADM Taquaras's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oliver Bierhoff, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 17th minute. At last the ball reached Milagros Fraga at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of ADM Taquaras. 0-1. Jeremias Moreno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. ADM Taquaras's Jeremias Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute of play. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Jeremias Moreno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 26th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Oliver Bierhoff had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oliver Bierhoff was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of Peru booed when ADM Taquaras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miki Moco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 38th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. In the 57thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ADM Taquaras's Jeremias Moreno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeremias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Peru booed when ADM Taquaras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 84th match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Jeremias Moreno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael Gallo's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Áron Bódog came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tales De Mileto hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Jeremias Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ADM Taquaras's Tales De Mileto suffered a sore thigh after 95 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Joaquin Prats's late challenge caught a ADM Taquaras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquin Prats helped the player get up and apologised. ADM Taquaras made a substitution. Cido Cabral replaced Tales De Mileto. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
