Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from István Szőlősi in the 11th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mózes Bartha to make the kick off. Nándor Jászberényi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Jorge Sainz charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Sainz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Mózes Bartha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move. Andor Mester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 67th minute of the match. Andor Mester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by István Szőlősi during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 76th minute of play forced Szombathelyi Haladás's goalkeeper Andor Mester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gusztáv Nyitrai charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gusztáv Nyitrai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th minute of the match Jaime Cazalla shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andor Mester showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Endre Tóth kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Andor Mester. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mózes Bartha during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mózes Bartha kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Uruguay players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
