Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albano Libertad ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Echesortu Football Club's corner Albano Libertad fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Echesortu Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Lucas Sanson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amado Bermudo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Echesortu Football Club's Lucas Sanson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 52nd minute Amado Bermudo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Sanson made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Bakar in the 64th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Lucas Sanson however easily saved by the left post. 70 minutes into the match, Echesortu Football Club's goalkeeper Lucas Sanson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Echesortu Football Club's Lucas Sanson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Echesortu Football Club from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Echesortu Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mai Fei didn't get a good kick on the ball.
