Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Axel Tasis kicked off to start the match. Ronaldo Lima blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Lima in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! Costa Rica:s Benito Sanz showed great skill when he stopped Jorge Sá:s penalty. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Ronaldo Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. When Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldinho Meira in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Meira in the 42nd minute of play. After 47 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldinho Meira made a kick off. Jorginho Mazza was extremely unlucky when he, in the 53rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 55th minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper José Pedro Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 minutes, Pedro Paulo Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morro Grande E.C and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Morro Grande E.C's Pedro Paulo Costa got a free kick in the 56th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Ronaldinho Meira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Ronaldo Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Ronaldo Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Ronaldinho Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldo Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronaldinho Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Meira in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldinho Meira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-4 after 88 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldo Lima got free with Benito Sanz in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo Lima in the 96th minute.
