Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baldomero Lapurdi went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 15 minutes into the game, Honorio Aztore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuevo Horizonte's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Nuevo Horizonte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorio Aztore didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Lapurdi in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. Niceto Virila yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. After 46 minutes of play, Nuevo Horizonte's Baldomero Lapurdi made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobo Nores was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Pardo to strike the kick off in the second half. Feliberto Ramirez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Feliberto Ramirez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niceto Virila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 64th minute of play. Baldomero Lapurdi in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jacobo Nores, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. David Gagriel's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Gagriel helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Nuevo Horizonte getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. David Gagriel hit a great ball. After having played for 79 minutes, Paulino Katia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nuevo Horizonte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulino Katia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Nuevo Horizonte defense, Hector Covarrubias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niceto Virila. The Nuevo Horizonte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niceto Virila should have stopped the shot. In the 91st match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Zoido to maneuver through the defense. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Paraguay lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
