The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Cuatrodeocho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Dimas to maneuver through the defense. Fulgencio Villalcazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, David Batuhin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cuatrodeocho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cuatrodeocho's David Batuhin got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Belarmino Campos fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuatrodeocho's protests and gave Belarmino Campos a yellow card for diving instead. Fulgencio Villalcazar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Batuhin in the 17th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 18 in the game by Horea Băieșu from a close distance when the talented Rolando Noboa managed to make a qualified save. Peru's players were relieved. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Batuhin in the 22nd minute of play. Nail Horan kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute of the match Luz Tejedor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fulgencio Villalcazar skillfully saved the ball. Fulgencio Villalcazar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felipe Dimas, made in the 36th minute of the game. Horea Băieșu scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Peru's Joaquin Prats got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute, Felipe Dimas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fulgencio Villalcazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 48th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Batuhin to make the kick off. The throw-in from Alonso Berganza in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cuatrodeocho's Javier Maroto. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Batuhin in the 53rd minute of play. Peru were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Cuatrodeocho's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. After 64 minutes, Andy Entrena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuatrodeocho and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andy Entrena hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Cuatrodeocho's José Planes was substituted for Sid Wilson. Cuatrodeocho made a substitution. Marco-Antonio Landa replaced Javier Maroto. Gábor Gyepes hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Fulgencio Villalcazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Cuatrodeocho's goalkeeper Fulgencio Villalcazar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cuatrodeocho's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Batuhin in the 84th minute of play. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Batuhin in the 86th minute of play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. A collision led to Cuatrodeocho getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Belarmino Campos hit a great ball. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
