In the 3rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Baldomero Lapurdi 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Nuevo Horizonte's Niceto Virila. Niceto Virila was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Niceto Virila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Honorio Aztore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Aztore in the 20th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 23rd minute of play forced Nuevo Horizonte's goalkeeper Niceto Virila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Baldomero Lapurdi tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 25th minute of play forced Nuevo Horizonte's goalkeeper Niceto Virila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paulino Katia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Lapurdi in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Niceto Virila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 35th minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. In the 44th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baldomero Lapurdi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Nuevo Horizonte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Lucero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guido Lucero kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Abel Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baldomero Lapurdi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulino Katia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Honorio Aztore shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Baldomero Lapurdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Niceto Virila. Niceto Virila yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Niceto Virila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Lapurdi in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 85th minute, Baldomero Lapurdi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. After 90 minutes, Axel Tasis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Nuevo Horizonte players grew even worse after the yellow card. 95 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Lapurdi came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Katia in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Nuevo Horizonte fully deserved thier win.
