Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Raphael Almeida started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Celtic FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Beto Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute, Celtic FC's Vicente Matos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Bueno in the 12th minute of play. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efrain Salamon having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efrain Salamon having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Hermes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Efrain Salamon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Almeida in the 37th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edson Oliveira who took care of the corner kick. Efrain Salamon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes Celtic FC got a freekick which was hit by Dieguinho da Silva. In the 46th minute Raphael Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Salamon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Efrain Salamon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Celtic FC's Efrain Salamon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 55th minute of play. Efrain Salamon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 59th minute of play. Efrain Salamon made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Almeida in the 68th minute of play. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Efrain Salamon firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 80th minute, Dieguinho da Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Efrain Salamon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 84th minute of play. After 85 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Efrain Salamon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Celtic FC's Efrain Salamon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Celtic FC from getting a goal against them. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Celtic FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
