After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Bernabe Rojas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Bernabe Rojas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 32nd minute of play forced 0 descensos's goalkeeper Adolfo Adrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Bernabe Rojas scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 2-0. 43 minutes into the game, Macos Graciani threw the ball into play from the sideline. 0 descensos's Lucas-James Joshua quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernabe Rojas in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. In the 67th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla managed to work through 0 descensos's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Alberto Tafalla dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adolfo Adrio came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 72nd minute. Luisito Leizarraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernabe Rojas, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After having played for 84 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. After a rather tough play, 0 descensos's Eusebio Cordeiro got a free kick in the 96th minute. Mexico's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because 0 descensos had won, even though Mexico had held more of the ball.
