Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Luca Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Önder Cebi in the 16th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Önder Cebi in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. After 16 minutes, Önder Cebi made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute, Emanuel Ogășanu made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastian Titz. That made the score 1-2 after 29 minutes of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Önder Cebi in the 32nd minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Sebastian Titz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sydney FC were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ferdinand Mendy took the corner. Kai Petermann hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Sydney FC's Kai Petermann fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Dante Lacasa was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 62nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Titz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute of play. Sebastian Titz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Joel Gaona got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Ludwig Hanstein dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa, 2-3. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Ogășanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
