After having played for 3 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 6 minutes of play, Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sebastian Titz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Titz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Titz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play. If Emanuel Ogășanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sydney FC were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ferdinand Mendy took the corner. 23 minutes into the game, Emanuel Ogășanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Emanuel Ogășanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy Rothe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Ogășanu made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emanuel Ogășanu in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute Önder Cebi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Önder Cebi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, one of Sydney FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sydney FC. Sydney FC:s Sebastian Titz showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Zorita:s penalty. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Önder Cebi in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Luis Andino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sebastian Titz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sebastian Titz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 85th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Önder Cebi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 92 minutes of play, Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 95th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Marke to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Sydney FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
