The tension between the Venezuela and the La Cienaga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded La Cienaga left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Venezuela.
