Darius Parish took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. In the 8th minute Bican Şeref shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bican Şeref in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bican Şeref in the 14th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Franco charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Franco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute of the match Kemal Bakırhan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Moorefield AFC's Teodoro Arizmendi got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Moorefield AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Cronin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bican Şeref stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bican Şeref in the 51st minute of play. Teodoro Arizmendi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 58th minute of play. With 61 minutes on the clock, Kevin Carballal commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Uruguay fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Moorefield AFC's Bican Şeref got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. Bryan Donovan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. Teodoro Arizmendi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Franco in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute of the match Uruguay got a corner. Moorefield AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Cazalla ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 74th minute of the match, Bican Şeref tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joaquin Gayoso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the last second Joaquin Gayoso throw himself and got hold of the ball when Bican Şeref in the 74thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Teodoro Arizmendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Camilo Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moorefield AFC made a substitution. Durval Castro replaced Kemal Bakırhan. After 79 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Covarrubias. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lanny Boyles, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bican Şeref in the 94th minute of play. Camilo Covarrubias hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Moorefield AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Moorefield AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
