Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 6 played minutes Sport Maia got a freekick which was hit by Jerónimo Avelar. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Albérico Igrejas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albérico Igrejas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Albérico Igrejas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Albérico Igrejas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of the match. Emmerich Hatschek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Albérico Igrejas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albérico Igrejas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Sport Maia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Santos to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 38th minute. The supporters of Sport Maia booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emmerich Hatschek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lavallén Pelon made a kick off. With a little luck, Sport Maia's Albérico Igrejas got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 54 minutes Sport Maia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Albérico Igrejas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute. Albérico Igrejas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute of play. After 67 minutes Sport Maia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Albérico Igrejas quite easily take care of the ball. In the 68th match minute, Sport Maia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Santos to maneuver through the defense. Lavallén Pelon scored 1-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lavallén Pelon went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cláudio Santos during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Zorita, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Albérico Igrejas came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 81st minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albérico Igrejas having to interfere. Sport Maia's Albérico Igrejas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Maia from getting a goal against them. Camilo Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 95 minutes of play Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Julio Vera had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Nuno Teves's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Nuno Teves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Sport Maia had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
