In the 33rd minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ryszard Golaszewski. Ryszard Golaszewski yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominik Barowicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olgierd Szkaradek in the 46th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Dominik Barowicz made the kick off in the second half. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mexico booed when Piast Leszczyny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Mexico's Joel Gaona looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dominik Barowicz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Piast Leszczyny's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ryszard Golaszewski came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piast Leszczyny's Aureliusz Tylenda was substituted for Krzysztof Gizynski. Piast Leszczyny's Lefteris Mantas was substituted for Ignacy Petka. After having played for 78 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. After 84 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Rouco. Ryszard Golaszewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
