In the 24th minute, Jorge Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Pedro Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 33rd match minute, Morro Grande E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Villa in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Pedro Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leonel Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with José Pedro Abraão in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Christiano Trevisan in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Ivan Navarro. José Pedro Abraão came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Moises Tafalla. But to his dismay, Moises Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Christiano Trevisan, made in the 88th minute of the game. The supporters of Honduras booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. José Pedro Abraão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
