Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Bruno Gavela charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Gavela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 54 played minutes ☝️ JÖH ☝️ got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Gavela. Atahan Kutbay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute Arnold Broos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnold Broos in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute of the match ☝️ JÖH ☝️ got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Serhan Biçimli ran over to the corner to take the kick. Serhan Biçimli made a great header on ☝️ JÖH ☝️'s corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save.
