Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Claudinei Terra got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Lütfi Kutlubay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Thibault Delanoë came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lütfi Kutlubay was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After 30 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Flavien Deregnaucourt who took care of the corner kick. When João Carlos Mesquita in the 32nd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Jonathan Ferrant kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The crowd rose to their feet as Sal Darby kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-1 in the 34 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lütfi Kutlubay was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 58th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sal Darby, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sal Darby in the 64th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sal Darby in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa made a substitution. Ian de Azevedo replaced Flavien Deregnaucourt. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zanko Shosev, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Sal Darby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Sal Darby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sal Darby in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thibault Delanoë in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Sal Darby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa had played much better football throughout.
