The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Lopes got free with Julio Vera in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Spanta Praga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruninho Zanette in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Davi Paraense. That made the score 1-2 in the 93 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruninho Zanette in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
