The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The nice shot from Ernesto Minichiello in the 10thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Lautaro Navarro had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After 11 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferruccio Cesaroni who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ferruccio Cesaroni almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro did a great save. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great ball. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Armando Polidori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. After 27 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armando Polidori was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Christian Zaccardi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moises Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 41 in the game by Ernesto Minichiello from a close distance when the talented Lautaro Navarro managed to make a qualified save. Honduras's players were relieved. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Minichiello's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Armando Polidori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Armando Polidori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Moises Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 57th minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, Esteban Carvallo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave XMAS the free kick. In the 62nd match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Polidori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the game, XMAS's Ennio De Nardis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Armando Polidori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 76th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in XMAS's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Polidori came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Minichiello came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferruccio Cesaroni who took care of the corner kick. Armando Polidori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 87th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Minichiello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. A throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game was made by Ferruccio Cesaroni with Ennio De Nardis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 94 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Armando Polidori. Edmundo Espiga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. The Honduras supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Honduras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
