The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Notis Bartzokas in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Apostolos Mavrokordatos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 1-0. 10 minutes into the game, Apostolos Mavrokordatos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Apostolos Mavrokordatos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 13th minute, Loukas Brizolakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Green Horses's Theodosis Kassapis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apostolos Mavrokordatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Theodosis Kassapis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 20th minute of the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Apostolos Mavrokordatos in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 38th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Apostolos Mavrokordatos came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Theodosis Kassapis made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 59thth minute of the game Apostolos Mavrokordatos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a Green Horses's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Green Horses booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Joshua Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Loukas Brizolakis during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Green Horses's Loukas Brizolakis got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Notis Bartzokas in the 75th minute of play. With a little luck, Green Horses's Theodosis Kassapis got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 81st minute of play forced Green Horses's goalkeeper Theodosis Kassapis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Green Horses.
