In the 6th minute, Douglas Cabral reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-0. The audience was convinced that Fernandão Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 15th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Ajax AFC's Fellipe Furtado. But to his dismay, Fellipe Furtado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Douglas Cabrals short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ajax AFC's Douglas Cabral shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Fernandão Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Douglas Cabral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 4-0 in the 35 minute of play. Ronaldinho Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Douglas Cabral got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Ronaldinho Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 54th minute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 68th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Douglas Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Douglas Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Tomas Illescas in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ronaldinho Rezende, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Fernandão Azevedo sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Douglas Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
