Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave XMAS the free kick. XMAS made a substitution. Domenico Mantini replaced Ennio De Nardis. In the 7th minute, Aaron Barrios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, XMAS's Marcos Cotilla threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alberigo Gianfrancesco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. XMAS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Domenico Mantini in the 9th minute. Felipe Ros tried in the game's 9th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Marcos Cotilla. An annoying self made goal, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 13th minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Armando Polidori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Polidori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 14th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Minichiello in the 15th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Minichiello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Abraham Alguacil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Armando Polidori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Christian Zaccardi's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 21st minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Armando Polidori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, XMAS's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Armando Polidori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, XMAS's Concetto Marinucci got a free kick in the 27th minute. XMAS's Armando Polidori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 29th minute of play. 1-2 became the score in the 39th minute when Tomas Berganza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of XMAS booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Alguacil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Panama's Armando Polidori threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tomas Berganza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Polidori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. With a little luck, XMAS's Armando Polidori got control of the ball when Isidoro Sarmiento tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Panama's Armando Polidori threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 76th minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Polidori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. XMAS's Armando Polidori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 80th minute of play. In the 84thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but XMAS's Armando Polidori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomas Berganza hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Panama booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Comunardo Quadrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute of the match, Tomas Berganza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armando Polidori saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Panama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
