Jaime Pardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duarte Couto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Pardo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alvi Verde's goalkeeper Duarte Couto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, Alvi Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Duarte Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Sampaio during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sílvio Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Duarte Couto made a huge save. 23 minutes into the match, Alvi Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Covarrubias came free, but Duarte Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Couto having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaime Pardo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Duarte Couto. That made the score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. In the 31st minute, Jaime Pardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Jaime Pardo in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duarte Couto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jaime Pardo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-0 to the left of a surprised Duarte Couto 35 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Alvi Verde's goalkeeper Duarte Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. The crowd rose to their feet as Paraguay's Jaime Pardo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Duarte Couto. That made the score 5-0 after 39 minutes of play. 45 minutes into the game, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Duarte Couto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

Duarte Couto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alvi Verde's Duarte Couto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Primitivo Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primitivo Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duarte Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 59th minute of play. When Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 89th minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duarte Couto was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. In the 97thth minute of the game Hector Covarrubias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alvi Verde's Duarte Couto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
