Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kermit Froggaard in the 8th minute of play. Academia de Campeones's Rodolfo Calvet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 16th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodolfo Calvet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Academia de Campeones getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Denis Blasco hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kai Havertz in the 24th minute of the match. Rodolfo Calvet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute Kai Havertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodolfo Calvet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 30th minute of the match. Rodolfo Calvet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodolfo Calvet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Academia de Campeones's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia de Campeones's Rodolfo Calvet did a great save. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Academia de Campeones's Silverio Iraitz got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Rodolfo Calvet was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Alberto Tafalla capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alberto Tafalla really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. 55 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rodolfo Calvet, 0-3. In the 59th match minute, Academia de Campeones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Porro to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodolfo Calvet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Academia de Campeones got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Cefero. In a very dangerous position, a player in Academia de Campeones fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Mexico. Joel Gaona stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rodolfo Calvet. 0-4. A sloppy throw-in by Leonardo Leoz in the 69th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Academia de Campeones's Joaquin Cefero. Rodolfo Calvet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 69th minute. In the 81st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Calvet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Rodolfo Calvet in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
