Despite this Ronnie Gregoire quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 20th minute of the match Milagros Fraga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronnie Gregoire skillfully saved the ball. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Anselmo Morera sped through Peru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ludomir Biraga, made in the 31st minute of the game. Ludomir Biraga made in the 33rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luo Ao Le however managed to control. Ronnie Gregoire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 36th minute of play. Milagros Fraga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronnie Gregoire firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 45th minute, Luz Tejedor fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ronnie Gregoire, passed just outside the right post. Ronnie Gregoire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Julian Murillo sped through Zryw Samsonów's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronnie Gregoire. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
