After a defensive mix-up in Morro Grande E.C's zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Abraão came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 4 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Wilian de Almeida. 6 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Meira came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by Jorginho Mazza with Kaká Sampaio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 23rd minute Ronaldinho Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Ronaldinho Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 32nd minute Ronaldo Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pedro Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Pardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Pedro Abraão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Morro Grande E.C's José Pedro Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Morro Grande E.C from getting a goal against them. The Paraguay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Morro Grande E.C were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alan Campos fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Alan Campos a yellow card for diving instead. Alan Campos hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Ronaldinho Meira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Jacobo Nores 70 minutes into the match. In the 77th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Escribano to maneuver through the defense. After 83 minutes, Ronaldinho Meira made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. José Pedro Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 89th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Morro Grande E.C's Ronaldo Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chants of Morro Grande E.C echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Paraguay had held the ball for most of the match.
