In the 4th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Salamanca UDS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play forced Salamanca UDS's goalkeeper Saip Baltaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Salamanca UDS's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Saip Baltaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saip Baltaş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Holmstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Carvalho came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kamel Espitalier's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Isac Gueifão hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The Salamanca UDS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Holmstedt in the 73rd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Holmstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, Salamanca UDS's Saip Baltaş got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Camilo Gisbert tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Julio Vera. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-1 in the 82nd minute. In the 84th minute Kamel Espitalier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salamanca UDS's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
