Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Isidro Morera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Morera having to interfere. Wesley Lopez's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wesley Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th match minute, Concórdia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Lopez to maneuver through the defense.
