After 9 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elof Säfström who took care of the corner kick. The corner led A-laget's Bartosz Bobrowski to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 12th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filippo Schiavoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filippo Schiavoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartosz Bobrowski in the 32nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bartosz Bobrowski hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to A-laget getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Kurt Ek hit a great ball. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
